Halcyon Yards

Halcyon Yards is a modern mixed-use development with a focus on intentional placemaking. It reimagines Kansas City’s industrial spaces as vibrant, sustainable, community-centered environments. When the team added a native plant garden to the property, they wanted signage that could do more than inform. It needed to educate, inspire curiosity, and blend seamlessly with the landscape.

The Orb Web was brought in to design a series of signs that reflected the purpose of the garden while encouraging connection to the natural world. The goal was to create something that felt like part of the environment, a design that listened as much as it spoke.

Today, the garden signage at Halcyon Yards serves as a quiet interface between people and place. It invites passersby to pause and learn, adds visual interest to the space, and helps tell the story of the land. It’s a thoughtful design solution rooted in purpose, and a reflection of Halcyon’s values and our belief in meaningful, place-based communication.
