CBS Outdoor engaged The Orb Web to develop a bold, high-impact billboard promoting the NAIA National Championship in downtown Kansas City. As a premier collegiate event, the billboard needed to elevate visibility, spark hometown pride, and clearly communicate the event details within a matter of seconds. It was a moment to celebrate excellence—on the field and in the city that hosts it.
We designed a visually commanding layout that emphasized movement, athleticism, and national significance. Crisp vector artwork and high-contrast colors ensured clarity from a distance, while the messaging struck a balance between excitement and authority. The phrase “The Heart of Champions” positioned Kansas City as both the literal and symbolic home of the competition, with supporting elements driving viewers to the event website and location. Final files were formatted for seamless print execution, with precise attention to specs and visual alignment across all placements.
The billboard became a prominent visual in the city’s sports landscape—generating local buzz and reinforcing Kansas City’s role as a destination for national athletics. Its presence brought timely attention to the NAIA Championship and contributed to a successful turnout, while honoring the spirit of student-athletes and the community that hosts them.
