Northland Coalition Ad Campaign
Finding Strength in the Small Threads that are Woven with Intention
Northland Coalition needed a compelling visual message targeted at parents, caregivers, and educators—specifically addressing the often-overlooked source of youth drug access: unsecured medications at home. The campaign aimed to stop the flow of prescription drugs to school-age children by raising awareness and encouraging simple, preventive action.
We developed a bold, clear digital display ad anchored in the unsettling reality behind the line: “She gets her music online and her drugs from her mom’s purse.” This juxtaposition brings the issue home, reinforcing urgency with the tagline “Be aware. Don’t share. Lock your meds.” Visually, we paired stark imagery with portal-inspired framing, symbolizing the protective boundary between youth and harm. Typography and layout were optimized for visibility in high-traffic digital signage placements, including school entrances, lobbies, and community centers.
The final design delivered a message that was both confronting and constructive. It sparked conversations, elevated community awareness, and equipped adults with a simple, actionable step to help prevent youth access to medication. The campaign served not just as a warning, but as a call to safeguard the environments closest to our kids.
